On September 13, the 2025 China Sports and Culture Expo and the core event of China Sports Tourism Expo - the China Sports Tourism Boutique Project was grandly held in Suzhou. Wulong District won two important honors in one fell swoop: "Wulong District of Chongqing" was awarded the "2025 China Sports Tourism Destination" key promotion, and the "Love Outdoors to Wulong" sports tourism route was awarded the "2025 China Sports Tourism Boutique Route". This marks that Wulong has become one of the districts and counties that have won the most national honors of sports tourism in Chongqing and even the country in the past two years.
It is understood that the "Love Outdoors to Wulong" recommended this time is not a single route, but a five themed route matrix created ingeniously: the fusion experience line of sports and tourism, unlocking the treetop walking, the eye of the forest and the dry land snow circle; the light luxury line of mountain and water camping and starry sky, integrating the stream hiking cave and night talk in the tribal style; the cool water line in summer, drifting along the Wood Brown River, shuttle through the original ecological bamboo forest and dangerous shoals; the cave exploration line in the center of the earth, challenge the world's highest cave hall Genting hall; the classic hiking and mountain climbing crossing line, leading through the original forest and karst secret realm. Five routes are like pearls, including rafting, speed skating, phorada, cave exploration and other diverse experiences, covering all ages, turning the three-dimensional outdoor resources treasure house of Wulong mountains, water, forests, springs and caves into tactile and sensible sports melodies.
This national honor is not an isolated case, but a continuous recognition of Wulong's deep cultivation of sports and tourism integration. In 2024, Wulong has begun to show its strength: the International Mountain Outdoor Sports Open and Fairy Mountain National Forest Park were selected as the "Top Ten Boutique Events" and the "Top Ten Boutique Scenic Area" in the country respectively; in December of the same year, Wulong Karst Tourism Zone was awarded the "National Mountaineering Outdoor Sports Destination". The foundation comes from world-class resource endowment - As the core area of the World Natural Heritage Site, Wulong has wonders such as Tiansheng Three Bridges and Longshui Gorges. Its dense cave groups and sinkhole groups form the world's scarce "karst three-dimensional ecological outdoor sports resource library", creating an outdoor paradise with all seasons and multiple scenes.

Relying on unique resources, Wulong is now working hard to create the "Outdoor Sports Resort and the World of Great Beauty Wulong" sports tourism brand, and continues to polish the business card of "Wuling Mountains - Wulong Outdoor Sports Demonstration Zone". Since 2003, it has successfully held the 20th consecutive "China International Mountain Outdoor Sports Open", creating a world-class competition brand. With this as an engine, the matrices of high-quality events such as the National Hiking Conference, Fairy Mountain Marathon, Dragon Boat Open, and Yehanshan Cross-Country Race have flourished, and a four-in-one event system of "brand-amateur-performance-mass" are being built.
