Work dynamics

Recently, six departments including the General Office of the National Development and Reform Commission jointly issued the "Notice on Issuing the First Batch of List of High-Quality Outdoor Sports Destination Construction Areas", and Fairy Mountain in Wulong, Chongqing was included in the first batch of high-quality outdoor sports destinations in the country.

It is understood that in order to implement the "Notice of the General Office of the State Council forwarding the Guiding Opinions of the National Development and Reform Commission and the General Administration of Sports on the Construction of High-quality Outdoor Sports Destination" (State Office Letter [2025] No. 12), in accordance with the "Notice of the General Office of the National Development and Reform Commission and others on building high-quality outdoor sports destinations" "Notice on Construction Work" (National Development and Reform Commission [2025] No. 250) related work arrangements. After expert review and joint review by departments, it is planned to include 49 destinations such as "Fairy Mountain Outdoor Sports Destination in Wulong District, Chongqing" into the list of areas for the construction of high-quality outdoor sports destinations for key support.

The notice requires that the construction of high-quality outdoor sports destinations is not a pilot demonstration or a listing, but more precise support and empowerment for areas with outdoor sports resource endowments and development foundations. It is an important measure to promote the development of my country's outdoor sports industry from point to area, and is of great significance for meeting the people's growing needs for a better life. Relevant areas must adhere to the principles of planning before construction and ecological priority, strictly abide by relevant laws, regulations and policy requirements such as cultivated land and permanent basic farmland protection red lines, ecological protection red lines, nature reserves, world natural heritage, world geoparks, woodlands, grasslands, wetlands, deserts, glaciers, flood control and river management, and promote the opening of high-quality natural resources to outdoor sports in accordance with land spatial planning and achieve harmonious symbiosis between the construction of high-quality outdoor sports destinations and the natural environment.
